Mexican chicken tacos

Do not miss this easy and simple recipe for Mexican chicken tacos, I assure you that you will love it and you will want to repeat it over and over again.

  • 1 large chicken breast of approximately 1 kg.
  • 4 cups of water.
  • 4 garlic cloves, peeled
  • 1 jalapeño.
  • ½ onion.
  • 2 tablespoons of oil.
  • Salt and pepper of your preference.
  • 12 corn tortillas.
  • Coriander leaves of your preference.
  • Lemon slices of your preference.


  • Bone the breast, reserve the chicken and the bones take them to a pot with the 4 cups of water, add salt and pepper of your preference and leave to cook for about 20 minutes to obtain a chicken broth, when ready reserve 2 cups.
  • While the broth is, cut all the chicken into small strips, likewise finely chop the garlic, jalapeño and onion.
  • In a large skillet add the oil and the freshly cut vegetables, fry for 2 minutes, add the chicken strips, the broth, salt and pepper of your preference, cover and cook over high heat for 5 minutes.
  • After time we uncover, stir and continue cooking until the liquids are reduced, when the chicken begins to brown, remove the pan from the heat so that the chicken is juicy.
  • We heat the tortillas 1 minute on each side, fill them with the chicken, coriander and lemon juice of your preference. We serve and enjoy.


  • Normally I like to eat the chicken tacos as the recipe is, but if it is to your liking we can accompany them with guacamole or another dressing that you prefer.
  • Another way to cook the chicken is to boil the entire breast and then shred it, once this is done we continue with the other procedures of the recipe.
